The Inaugural London Gala in 2013 raised over £1.2 million for the Novak Djokovic Foundation to support vulnerable and disadvantaged children in Djokovic’s native Serbia. The evening drew celebrities, models, and royalty alike and featured a live auction of one of a kind experiences and collectables such as a yacht getaway with Goldie Hawn and Kate Hudson, a guitar signed by Ronnie Wood, and a holiday at Richard Branson’s private island.
Famed mentalist Lior Suchard stunned the crowd with a performance and the evening also featured a mini tennis match with Goldie Hawn and Kate Hudson participating. Attendees included: Goldie Hawn, Kate Hudson, Naomi Campbell, Ronnie Wood, Gerard Butler, Jonathan Ross, Matt Bellamy, Boris Becker, Sir Richard Branson, Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York, Princess Beatrice, and Princess Eugenie.
Madonna Raising Malawi
During Art Basel Miami in 2016 Madonna hosted an “evening of art, music, and mischief” to benefit her Raising Malawi Foundation. It was a star-studded affair that raised over $7.5 million to support Malawi’s vulnerable children. With the funds, the foundation was able to complete construction on a new pediatric hospital.
The evening featured a curated live auction of fine art from internationally renowned artists such as Damien Hirst, Julien Schnabel, Cindy Sherman, Richard Prince, Marylin Minter, Tracey Emin, and Ai Wei Wei as well as one-of-a-kind experiences and collectables. The night also featured a performance by pop-sensation Ariana Grande and ended with a special “Tears of a Clown” concert by Madonna herself.
