The Inaugural London Gala in 2013 raised over £1.2 million for the Novak Djokovic Foundation to support vulnerable and disadvantaged children in Djokovic’s native Serbia. The evening drew celebrities, models, and royalty alike and featured a live auction of one of a kind experiences and collectables such as a yacht getaway with Goldie Hawn and Kate Hudson, a guitar signed by Ronnie Wood, and a holiday at Richard Branson’s private island.
Famed mentalist Lior Suchard stunned the crowd with a performance and the evening also featured a mini tennis match with Goldie Hawn and Kate Hudson participating. Attendees included: Goldie Hawn, Kate Hudson, Naomi Campbell, Ronnie Wood, Gerard Butler, Jonathan Ross, Matt Bellamy, Boris Becker, Sir Richard Branson, Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York, Princess Beatrice, and Princess Eugenie.
The Elton John AIDS Foundation Fall Benefit: An Enduring Vision
Since 2001 the Elton John AIDS Foundation (EJAF) fall benefit, An Enduring Vision, has established itself as one of the most glamorous and important events on the New York fall social calendar. Welcoming a who’s who of New York society and entertainment elite including Neil Patrick Harris, Alec Baldwin, Anderson Cooper, Billy Joel, Diane Lane, Brooke Shields, Sting, Daniel Craig, Glenn Close, Ethan Hawke, Sting and President Bill Clinton the night is not one to miss.
The event is a major source of fundraising for the Foundation raising millions of dollars for EJAF’s grant-making programs. It features a cocktail reception, dinner, curated live auction, and special performances. Past performances include Neil Young, kd Lang, Elvis Costello, Donna Summer, Heart, Stevie Nicks, Gladys Knight, Sheryl Crow, and of course Sir Elton John.
The 2017 event was a celebration of 25 years of the Elton John AIDS Foundation and the momentous occasion was held in the beautiful Cathedral of St. John the Divine. The night featured Aretha Franklin’s last public performance.
